Australian skier Adrian Costa has finished in tenth place in the
moguls at the World Freestyle Championships in Deer Valley, Utah.
It was the best placing for the 30 year old Falls Creek skier since
his first world title outing in 1993, when he finished one place
higher in ninth position.
Olympic Winter Institute team-mate Michael Robertson finished in
12th place in his first world championship appearance, while fellow
Mt Hotham skier Jane Sexton placed 11th in the women’s event, her
best result in a world championship or World Cup event.
The women’s gold medal went to Norwegian Kari Traa, the defending
world champion adding the 2003 title to her Salt Lake 2002 Olympic
medal, while Finnish skier Mikko Ronkainen also successfully
defended his world title in the men’s event.
