Insurance
SSA has been in lengthy negotiations on behalf of all clubs and
associations, to seek suitable renewal terms for Public Liability,
Professional Indemnity, Personal accident and Directors & Officers
cover.
We are delighted to offer renewal terms for clubs, camps and
associations for 2007/2008, and confirm that the relevant premiums
remain the same as the previous two insurance periods.
It is vital that all clubs/associations that have previously enjoyed
cover under the master policy continue to support this initiative.
The Sports cover policy is the only policy available that adequately
meets the specific needs of the sport including cover for race clubs
and programs overseas. Without these unique aspects of the policy
our sport is greatly restricted. Non-competition clubs and
associations can enjoy the benefit of these reduced premium levels,
due in large part to the high level of support this policy has
received from the wider skiing community.
Previously insured clubs/organisations have received renewal notices
in the mail. By following the link
below you can download an application form for the 2007/2008
insurance cover which includes Directors and Officers Insurance and
an option for personal accident cover for your members and
professional indemnity cover for coaches.
To encourage early take up of the insurance cover, Ski & Snowboard
Australia is in a position to pass on a 10% rebate off the total
premium for applications and payments received before the 1st May
2007. After which the published premiums will be applicable.

OAM has been appointed to the board of the Australian Sports
Commission.
In making the announcement Federal Minister for Sport, Senator
Brandis said “Ms Camplin will bring a unique perspective to the ASC
board over the next two years,”
“Ms Camplin made the transition from being a national stream gymnast
to becoming Australia’s most successful Winter Olympian. As such,
she has a good understanding of the national sport system as well as
an extensive knowledge of the needs of elite athletes.
“Further, Ms Camplin has demonstrated professional communication and
business skills that have led to executive appointments in leading
international firms and is a sought after sports commentator. This

FIS ALPINE COMPETITION
EQUIPMENT RULES 2007 – 2008
There have been some changes made to the FIS Alpine Competition
Equipment rules for the season 2007 – 2008.
Ordinarily, these changes would come into effect from 01 July 2007,
but the ski manufacturers would not be able to produce the new
compliant equipment and have it available for purchase now, in time
for the Southern Hemisphere winter competition season.
SSA has made representation to the FIS to delay the implementation
of the new 2007 – 2008 rules until 01 October 2007, after the end of
our Southern Winter season.

World junior bronze for Pullin
Australia's 2007 season medal-winning run has continued with Alex
Pullin riding to bronze in the Snowboard Junior World Championships

snowboard cross field, then won his round of 32 encounter.
He followed that with another victory in the quarter-final round,
then finished in second place in the semi-final to make it into the
final.
The bronze medal result is a great end to the season for the
19-year-old Mt Buller rider, after an impressive World Cup debut
earlier in the year.
Pullin's team-mate Bryan Taylor finished in 57th place, while
Annabelle Hickey placed 49th and Julia De Campo 51st in the girls'
