Welcome to the 71st edition of the Ski & Snowboard Australia
E-News.
With the few remaining Australian athletes making final
preparations prior to departing overseas, it has been a mixed start
for those athletes who have already begun their competition season.
Difficult snow conditions throughout Europe has caused several
events to be postponed and cancelled, however early results in
World Cup and Nor Am events by several Australian athletes have
been promising. On a sour note, the early World Cup Alpine
competitions have not been kind to our National team, with two of
our most experienced athletes suffering season ending leg injuries
in the USA.
This edition of the SSA E-News will provide you with all the latest
event results and discipline updates as well as provide current
information on athlete requirements for travelling internationally
to compete.
Please note that the Ski and Snowboard Australia office will be
closed from Friday 22nd December to Tuesday 2nd January, 2006.
Please make sure that all your International Competition License
applications, race entry requests and other registrations are
submitted no later than Friday 15th December to allow time for the
applications to be processed before the office closes.

winter must have the following memberships and registrations:
SSA Membership
Discipline Registration

In addition SSA will be providing an opportunity for coaches,
parents, and supporters to purchase a competitively priced standard
travel insurance product which will incorporate a rebate back to the
sport. We urge as many people as possible to support this initiative
as the more policies we as a sport are able to sell the better
chance we have to keep premiums down in the future.
