2006 Australian Ski & Snowboard Awards
The Ski & Snowboard Awards has always been a night first and foremost for the athletes and to honour their achievement over the previous 12 months. Attendees also take great pleasure in the interaction with our sporting heroes. SSA now understands that a large number of athletes, particularly our Olympic representatives, have become unavailable to join us on the evening.

Accordingly, SSA has made the decision to postpone the evening with a new date and location to be determined shortly.

Award nomination deadlines and the judging process will continue not withstanding the postponement of the dinner. If you wish to view the awards categories or submit a nomination please click here

We thank you for your understanding and trust that this decision does not cause too much inconvenience.

Discipline Conference

Despite the fact that the 2006 Australian Ski & Snowboard awards have been postponed the Discipline Committee Conference will still be going ahead on the 29th April at the Sofitel in Melbourne as scheduled.

Snowboard Forum
In addition to the Discipline Committee Conference being held on the 29th of April, the Snowboard Committee will be hosting an open forum for interested parties to openly discuss snowboarding issues together with the SSA Snowboard Committee in a positive and constructive manner.

The forum will take place from 10am – 11.30am at the:

Sofitel Melbourne
25 Collins Street
35th Floor
Room 1, East Tower

Registration to attend the forum is compulsory. Please indicate your interest to attend by emailing info@skiandsnowboard.org.au

Sport Program Update

The formal program review process is underway for all SSA funded programs now that the 2005/2006 Northern Winter has drawn to a close. It is anticipated this will conclude mid April.

The program review process is being done in conjunction with OWI, NSWIS, VIS and SSA Management and program coaches. Programs are assessed against their stated program aims and athlete KPI’s.

Program Planning

SSA management has been involved in preliminary discussions with Institute partners re: 4 year program planning.

The four year planning process and subsequent program recommendations is anticipated to be completed by May 2006.

A series of meetings/forums with members of discipline committees and sport program technical experts will be conducted in April/May to gain feedback and input into program direction and athlete pathways.
