Wall crashes out as Raich takes gold

Austrian favourite Benjamin Raich has produced a sensational second run to win gold in the giant slalom at Sestriere Colle after Australian Brad Wall was one of 34 skiers to crash out on the first run.

Women’s Aerials Recommence Tonight


After previously being postponed due to bad weather the Women’s Aerials will resume tonight with the qualifying round. The Australian team consisting of Salt Lake City gold medallist Alisa Camplin, Jacqui Cooper, Lydia Ieriodiaconou and Liz Gardner will be vying for a top 12 finish to advance to the finals on Wednesday night.


Begg-Smith gets stamp of approval
20 Feb 2006

Australia Post will release a sheetlet of 10 stamps featuring the image of Australia's latest Olympic gold medallist Dale Begg-Smith taken on the dais on Friday, 17 February, 2006.
The stamp image has been designed, produced and distributed to major Australia Post outlets for sale by midday 21 February within days of Dale's win.
