Aussie Dale takes gold in moguls

Australian Dale Begg-Smith has claimed gold in the freestyle skiing moguls competition at Sauze d’Oulx. Begg-Smith was the last competitor in the event and went past Finland’s Mikko Ronkainen to claim victory.

Aussie Dale - A man of few words

Dale Begg-Smith was fifteen when he turned his back on his native Canada and called Australia home in 1999.
The teenager had already developed a successful internet business and was determined to mix work with pleasure.

American coach Steve Desovich spoke to the media after the gold medal victory of Dale Begg-Smith. He told the assembled journalists “there are no cracks in this cool man. He’s in-human in that way… impenetrable,” Desovich said.

It's a lottery, but Hayler is in with a chance

Damon Hayler burst into the view of Australian winter sports fans last October with a bronze medal performance at the World Cup in Saas-Fee, Switzerland.

And he has to be rated a chance to become even more well known by making the podium when the men's snowboard cross event makes its Olympic debut on Thursday February 16 (Day 6).

Cooper relaxed ahead of aerials

Jacqui Cooper will not judge her efforts at the Torino Olympics on her final placing, but rather on the quality of her performance.
Cooper, who will compete in the freestyle aerials, has been selected in her fourth Olympic team and past experience has her thinking clearly ahead of the competition.
