Dale Begg-Smith has finished in ninth place in a World Cup in Mont
Gabriel, Canada, with brother Jason the next best of the Australians
in 28th place.
Jason's result was unfortunately just one spot away from delivering
him the last of the three top 60 per cent of field results he needs
to qualify for selection to the 2006 Olympic Games team.
The news was better for Manuela Berchtold, who missed a start in the
women's final by two places, finishing 18th, but secured the third
top 60 per cent result which qualifies her for Torino team
selection.
Michael Robertson was in 29th place and Nick Fisher 37th.
The men's event was won by Canadian Andre Bilodeau, his first World
Cup victory, while the women's gold went to Norwegian legend Kari
Traa ahead of Jennifer Heil of Canada.
