Jono Brauer has won a FIS race in Pampeago-Tesero,
Italy, in a confidence-building outing in the lead-up to
the Madonna di Campiglio slalom, scheduled for December
15. The 22-year-old Thredbo technical specialist also
performed strongly in a Europa Cup giant slalom in Aal,
Norway, finishing 21st in a field peppered with World
Cup racers. He was 2.19 seconds overall behind race
winner Hannes Reiter of Austria.
SAL/NSWIS skier Brad Wall finished in 45th place in the
Italian FIS race, but did not finish the first run in
the Aal, while team-mate Luke Deane did not qualify for
the second run.
