Spirit Mountain MN
A great result for our first competition. Emma Pullin earned a podium spot, finishing in 2nd and Julia De Campo well in the top ten, finishing 8th.
Spirit Mountain Minnesota is the place for our first event. With warmer temperatures than in Colorado Spirit resembled something we are used to back home. Wetter snow and smaller runs, though organizers put on a good event.
Qualifying went very well, with Emma Pullin posting the 2nd fastest time and Julia De Campo posting the 7th fastest. Nick Warren and Bryan Taylor also had good time trials, holding down 8th and 9th spot respectively.
Heats went very well, with Emma reaching the final winning every heat along the way and Julia also rode well narrowly missing out on reaching the final. Julia finished a very respectable 8th after an un-fortunate fall at the fist burm in her final heat, and also feeling under the weather. Emma had a great start in the final and was just muscled out into the first burm but stayed close to the leader as the two of them pulled away from the other two competitors.
Nick and Bryan were drawn in the same heat and with good gate selections immediately accelerated into 1st and 2nd over the beginning rollers and step down. Nick un-fortunately landed in some loose snow and lost his edge going down with bryan too close to avoid him, they both were unable to make up ground on the short course.
Copper Mountain
A week later the revolution tour comes to our home mountain, Copper. Time trials went well with a bigger field, Nick Warren posted the 13th fastest and Bryan holding the 16th fastest. Emma Pullin again had a good qualifier taking 4th and Julia De Campo taking 9th.
Un-fortunately our heats didn’t go quite as well as the previous week with all but Bryan being knocked out in the early round. Bryan Taylor had a good first heat finishing second and through his second heat was holding second position, however, he was relegated to third by what must have been millimeters on the finish line.
We will re-group and have a good time in training this week and look forward to the USASA double header this weekend.

Nathan Zentveld
