The NSWIS TID Camp last weekend had an awesome turn out with some of
the best young halfpipe riders in Australia. The two day camp was to
Talent ID young riders for future positions on the NSWIS team
coached by Ben Alexander. We will now invite the top performers at
this camp to attend another camp in September where we will
hopefully ask 2 athletes to be apart of the NSWIS team.
The camp went well with perfect conditions at Perisher Blue. The
pipe was cut to perfection and the sun was shinning for both the
days. We had a total of 14 attendants which was an unbelievable
turnout of young riders.
Ben Alexander and Ben Wordsworth were pleasantly surprised at the
amount of talented riders coming through at such a young age. As we
look forward we are going to have a very strong talent pool for the
future of Australian halfpipe riding. It is great to see the younger
generation focusing on one of the harder disciplines in
snowboarding. Halfpipe riding takes a lot of motivation and skill
level to reach the international standard.
I would like to thank all the riders who came to the camp and put in
100% for the 2 days.
We will now send out information to the riders that are chosen for
the second camp running in September. Please look on SSA website for
any future camps and information.
